Fluoride Vs. Ozone: Impact on Oral and Dental Hygiene

A randomized experiment was conducted to elucidate the disinfectant and antiplaque ability of a well-known brand of fluoride toothpaste (colgate) compared to our new ozone toothpaste. A group of people made up of individuals of both sexes and aged between 25 and 55 years, carried out dental hygiene treatment with FLUOR toothpaste for 15 days; and another different group, also with a similar composition of individuals, performed the dental hygiene treatment with our new toothpaste made with OZONE, without fluoride. Swab samples were taken before and after brushing with each toothpaste, on the first day and fifteen days after the start of both treatments. These swabs were then cultured to identify the total number of microorganisms under general aerobic conditions.
