Fluoride Vs. Ozone: Impact on Oral and Dental Hygiene

A randomized experiment was conducted to elucidate the antiplaque and sanitizing ability of a popular brand of fluoride toothpaste (Colgate) compared to our new ozone toothpaste. A group of people composed of individuals of both sexes and aged between 25 and 55 years, carried out dental hygiene treatment with FLUORIDE toothpaste for 15 days; and another different group, also with a similar composition of individuals, performed the dental hygiene treatment with our new toothpaste made with OZONE, without fluoride. Swab samples were taken before and after brushing with each toothpaste, on the first day and fifteen days after the start of both treatments. Those swabs were then cultured to identify the total number of microorganisms under general aerobic conditions.

Results:

*% reduction of microorganisms calculated as the percentage of microorganisms before and after applying the toothpaste treatment.

CONCLUSION:

This test shows the antibacterial power of toothpaste with ozone, equal to that of fluoride, but totally harmless to humans, animals or the environment.

Fluoride vs. Ozone:

Impact on the environment. The rose periwinkle (Catharanthus roseus (L.) G.Don) is a flowering plant, endemic to Madagascar, and is included in the Apocynaceae family. RESULTS:

Stress symptoms due to fluorine anion toxicity began with wilting of stems and leaves (1 day after the start of the trial, DSA), followed by subsequent necrosis (4-5 DSA). The plants treated with ozonated oil did not show any stress symptoms throughout this experiment and have not yet shown any.
